Yasuo KobayashiProfessor Emeritus
Laboratory of Animal Functional Nutrition, Hokkaido University
We fed CoCo Gourmet to the two dogs owned by our associate professor and three members of our lab. CoCo Gourmet not only excels in nutritional balance but is also produced to the same standards and with the same equipment as human food, ensuring safety and security. The 'palatability' is particularly noteworthy. I also tried it myself and was convinced.
Biography
Ph.D. in Agriculture, Hokkaido University, 1991
Japanese Society of Animal Science Award, 2005
ASJ Excellent Paper Award, 2011
At Hokkaido University, I have conducted long-term research on livestock feed, including the combination of feed, the development of additives, and the activation of symbiotic microorganisms, aiming to maximize the potential within the intestines. My research spans a wide range from animals to cells and DNA, and I serve as a professor at the Laboratory of Animal Functional Nutrition.
The health of intestinal bacteria is not only crucial for livestock but also for pets, and this is a field of active research both domestically and internationally.

Many pet owners think, 'I know that homemade food using fresh and safe ingredients is good for health, but it's a high hurdle to clear...'. CoCo Gourmet selects safe ingredients for your beloved dogs, takes nutrition balance into account, and is gently cooked at low temperatures, making it a meal that recreates the love-filled homemade meals you prepare at home. It's easy to use and recommended for pet owners who find it challenging to make homemade meals every day or who are concerned about the nutritional balance of exclusively homemade food.
Biography
After obtaining an LVT license in the United States, I studied holistic alternative medicine and nutrition for dogs and cats before returning to Japan in 2017. Currently, I am working to promote healthy diets for dogs and cats in Japan. Previously, I worked at a foreign healthcare company dealing with cardiovascular diseases in humans. This experience made me question the symptomatic treatments of modern medicine and recognize the importance of fundamental and preventive medicine. During this time, my family members were repeatedly diagnosed with cancer, and my dog also experienced various health problems, including being diagnosed with a terminal illness (as it was then diagnosed). These events led me to start researching preventive medicine, diet, and lifestyle improvements. My dog's multiple illnesses, which were not cured by conventional treatments, surprisingly improved after changing his diet. This experience profoundly impacted me and made me realize the importance of a holistic approach to health, including nutrition, natural medicine, and preventive care.

Food is something we provide daily, and it forms the basis of health, so I want to give my pets something safe and reliable. However, no matter how nutritious the food is, it would be problematic if they don't eat it. CoCo Gourmet uses human-grade ingredients and is handmade to ensure balanced nutrition, and most importantly, it is something pets happily eat. That is its great appeal.
Biography
Veterinarian, PYIA Certified Pet Herbalist, Certified Pet Acupuncturist (Japan Traditional Veterinary Medicine Society), completed primary course in Traditional Reiki, completed Animal Reiki Association Teacher Course.
After graduating from university, I worked in an animal hospital. A few years later, I experienced a vague uncertainty about clinical work, leading me to temporarily explore other careers. However, I decided to become a fully-fledged veterinarian and returned to work at the animal hospital. After getting married, I faced infertility and turned to Oriental medicine (mainly Chinese medicine), dietary therapy, and lifestyle improvement, which eventually led to the birth of two children. This experience sparked my interest in non-Western medicine, and I began studying Oriental veterinary medicine (acupuncture) for animals.
